Cedar Walk Program

Location: 1043 Kingsway Street
Ages: 16-19

 

An alternative education program for Indigenous youth whose needs are not being met in traditional school programs. 20 seats are available, half of the students attend during the afternoon, the other half in the evening. To become a student – a referral must come from the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) or Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS).

If you want a referral but do not have an open file with MCFD, please contact the intake Worker at 550 Cambie, or the Screening Committee at the MCFD.

Native Youth Learning Centre

Location: 1618 East Hastings Street
Ages: 15-30

 

Computer-based learning centre supporting the personal, educational, and career development of Indigenous youth – to access resources, talk to staff, and to see what is offered. Hours may change when training and workshops are taking place – check the calendar for regular updates on the schedule by following the QR Code.

Aries Program

Location: 1618 East Hastings Street
Ages: 13-16

 

Alternative learning program with space for 20 students each school year. Students attend Aries full time, five days a week. One of the ways we support youths’ wellbeing is by considering the effects of present and past circumstances. Everyone at Aries works together to create a space that is safe, respectful, and culturally relevant to everyone, so that they can have room to grow and succeed.

Youth Skills offers 10 virtual workshops, weekly check ins, and support in volunteering in your community. Cohort 9 will begin Fall 2022.

Youth Homework Club

Location: 425 Oxford St
Ages: 9-18

 

Play sports, learn some new games, enjoy snacks, or do some arts and crafts with us and your friends.
Tutor and homework help for various subjects is also provided if you need support for classes. Registration is required to ensure health and safety of community members
