22-week paid program for Indigenous youth interested in gaining employment skills and experience to work in a community-based setting. In addition to group training and 1:1 support, youth complete a 3-month (12 week) practicum placement with a local employer.

Gives youth the opportunity to do paid work, acquire new skills, and grow in confidence.Youth apply for the program, then work two, four-hour, paid shifts per week in our kitchen for three months, helping to create our nightly hot meals and daily snacks.

Frames utilises film as a medium to provide training, support, and voice to Aboriginal youth and their peers overcoming barriers. A Registered Social Worker and Film Instructor facilitate three program cycles each year. Each cycle 15+ youth and mentors provide peer support; gain life skills and film training; and collaborate to conceptualise, film, and edit stories for community change. At the end of each cycle, films are screened at a community graduation event and uploaded to social media.

Aim is to enable youth in and from care to explore and advance their skills to find meaningful, sustainable jobs. We take a holistic approach to address any barriers to employment youth may face, while also strengthening critical employability skills.
